Love Placentia

Love Placentia is a partnership of the city of Placentia, the Placentia Police Department, faith communities, PYLUSD, non-profits, service organizations, and local residents committed to serving and loving the city in which we live, work, and play. Love Placentia has installed Blessing Boxes in 5 Placentia parks to support those in our community who are in food insecurity situations. These persons may be homeless or be families whose income does not stretch to meet their regular needs. All are welcome to “take what they need and leave what they can” in these boxes.

Our members donate non-perishable foods and we have teams who go weekly to place the collected foods into two Blessing Boxes. Should food donations be low in any month we have a budget which can be used to supplement the donations as needed.

HOBY Leadership

The HOBY Leadership program for the Hugh O’Brien Youth, welcomes school and community nominated students to 3–4-day seminars each spring and summer. These student ambassadors participate in facilitated dialogue and abilities-based workshops to develop awareness of their leadership strengths and an understanding of their leadership values. Through these dynamic activities with their peers, students hone their skills and learn to recognize, amplify, and collaborate with the diverse strengths of others. We provide scholarships to 4 students from the PYLUSD to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference each year.
